Gentle Heart

Despair in your heart,
you can’t find your way out of it.
Surrounded by frauds,
negative and mean-spirited.
They see what they want,
rather than what reality is.
To briefly read on,
would cause them inconvenience.
Then one day, truth knocks,
like a shock wave so strong, it hits.

Most people have heart;
most people are courteous.
The ones who are smart,
will not pretend ignorance.
Through cruelty and hardship,
they’ve been there, experienced it.
They will lend you support
and serve as your witness.
They have courage and spark,
and focus on factualness.

From time to time, dark
can simply close in on us.
You've done nothing wrong,
you're faithful and innocent.
Love who you are,
conflict will always exist,
but shine bright like a star
because so will truthfulness.
