Affirmation

Under a microscope, they criticize.
Overlook their own flaws with blank, judgy eyes.
Called a thief and a quota, claims unjustified.
You won fair and square, you're the most qualified.
They're too lazy to do even half of your work.
On their best day, they're equal to you at your worst.
Accuse you of attaining success through handouts.
They're ashamed that their lives didn't go as planned out.
You're astonishingly great and that's why you stand out.
Hard-working, successful, honorable throughout.
Juggled multiple jobs, made your own way through college.
Stayed hopeful and thankful enough for the knowledge.
Stood on your own feet, even when you were weary.
As capable adult critics depended on parents.
A generational cycle, perpetuating their fate.
They had a head start, but it all went to waste.
If they traveled your path, they'd disintegrate.
They're jealous, obsessed, as you make tremendous waves.
